Professor Dr Stefan Collignon
Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok

Stefan Collignon visiting professor at the European Institute, London School of Economics, where he taught as Centennial professor from 2001 to 2005. In 2023 he returned to Harvard as an associate professor at the Economics Faculty, having taught as Visiting Professor at Harvard’s Government Department and the Center for European Studies (https://ces.fas.harvard.edu/about-us) in 2005-2007. From 2007 to 2022 he was Professore ordinario at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa.  He has also been a regular visiting professor at Chulalongkorn university since

His research has focussed on European monetary economics, and the political economy of regional integration. Having contributed to the creation of the euro, he worked 1999-2000 as deputy director general at the German Treasury.

He has widely published on European issues and also recently published several books on the transforming economy of Myanmar. He presently works on a new book with the title The Political Economy of Liberty and Money.

Stefan Collignon ist Gastprofessor am European Institute der London School of Economics, wo er von 2001 bis 2005 als Centennial Professor lehrte. Im Jahr 2023 kehrte er als Associate Professor an die Fakultät für Volkswirtschaftslehre der Harvard University zurück, nachdem er bereits von 2005 bis 2007 als Visiting Professor am Department of Government sowie am Center for European Studies (https://ces.fas.harvard.edu/about-us) tätig gewesen war. Von 2007 bis 2022 war er Professore ordinario an der Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa. Darüber hinaus ist er seit mehreren Jahren regelmäßiger Gastprofessor an der Chulalongkorn University.

Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in der europäischen Geldpolitik und der politischen Ökonomie regionaler Integration. Nach seinem Beitrag zur Einführung des Euro war er von 1999 bis 2000 als stellvertretender Generaldirektor im deutschen Bundesfinanzministerium tätig.

Er hat zahlreiche Publikationen zu europäischen Themen vorgelegt und in jüngerer Zeit mehrere Bücher über den wirtschaftlichen Wandel in Myanmar veröffentlicht. Derzeit arbeitet er an einem neuen Buch mit dem Titel „The Political Economy of Liberty and Money“.

Stefan Collignon est professeur de recherche à l’Université Chulalongkorn, Bangkok, (competitive track) et professeur invité à l’Institut européen, London School of Economics, où il a enseigné de 2001 à 2005.

Auparavant, entre 2007 et 2022, il a enseigné à l’école d’études supérieures Sant’Anna, à Pise. De 2005 à 2007, il a été professeur invité à l’université de Harvard. Ses recherches se sont concentrées sur l’économie monétaire européenne et l’économie politique de l’intégration régionale. Ayant contribué à la création de l’euro, il a travaillé de 1999 à 2000 comme directeur général adjoint au Trésor allemand.

Il a récemment publié plusieurs ouvrages sur l’économie en transformation du Myanmar et travaille actuellement sur un nouveau livre intitulé The Political Economy of Liberty and Money.

ก่อนหน้านี้ ระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2550‐2565 เขาสอนที่ Sant’Anna School of Advance Studies เมืองปิซ่า ประเทศอิตาลี ระหวางปี พ.ศ.2548‐2550 เขาเป็นศาสตราจารยร์รับเชิญที่มหาวิทยาลัย Harvard

งานวิจัยของเขามุ่งเน้นไปที่เรื่องเศรษฐศาสตร์การเงินของยุโรปและเศรษฐกิจการเมืองของการรวมกลุ่มในภูมิภาคยุโรป หลังจากมีส่วนร่วมในการสร้างเงินยูโร ในระหวางปี 2542‐2543 เขาทำงานในตำแหน่งรองผู้อำนวยการทั่วไป  ที่กรมธนารักษ์ประเทศเยอรมัน เมื่อเร็วๆนี้เขาได้ตีพิมพหนังสือหลายเล่มเกี่ยวกับเศรษฐกิจ ที่กำลังเปลี่ยนแปลงของประเทศพม่า และปัจจุบันกำลังเขียนหนังสือเล่มใหม่ที่มีชื่อว่า The Political Economy of Liberty and Money
